I am a Certified Adult Volunteer. I work with young ladies from the ages of 10 to 20. We go through annual training. One of the points that is covered is when and where is it appropriate for the girls to change clothing. They may not change clothing if an adult (that is anyone who has each the age of 21) is in the room. A female adult may not help them with their clothing in anyway unless they specifically request assistance and only then another female adult must be in the room.

Also, here is where those who come from WT society will have a hard time grasping these rules. Each age group of girls is advised as to how to act in the presence of the younger girls. When girls reach 12 we remind them not talk about certain things in front of the 10 year olds and so forth up the line. This is very important when you are dealing with a large age range. Age appropriate comes in to play all the time and we must be very sensitive to this with each age group.

These girls are learning public speaking skills, how to run a business meeting, how to organize and completely run a charity event, attend many formal dinners and dances, organize fun events and all the while they have adults in the background for support but we are there as advisors only not to do the work for them. By the time they reach 20 we hopefully have produced some very fine young ladies who will be entering the business world that can take command of any situation and very definitely hold her own. I have seen girls as young as 16 and 17 take the podium and run a meeting and put a lot of adults to shame.

We also have a group that works just with boys. They have all the same standards and goals as the girls.

I guess we just have a little higher moral and ethical standards.

This is why we see a bruise in the wrong spot on a child or a woman we ask no questions we just dial 911.

I just got off the phone with my daughter who just informed me yes her and her bf changes clothes in parking lots all the time but this is how we do it. We take 2 vehicles side by side. Open doors, to cause a closure and make sure no one can see us. My question why in the world are you charging in parking lots. Because we are socked and covered in mud from off roading at least we will have dry clothes on mom.

In this country we have specified beaches marked as such for nude bathing. If you were to strip down to the bare on another beach you would be arrested.

No I am not narrow minded. There is a time and a place for all things and when you have dealt with this pedophile issue you will understand that respect for the human body has it's time and place.

PS. when you have seen 4 children raped by their father you may understand. I helped get this man put behind bars and I helped for the next five years care for these kids while mom got back on her feet.

Yes but what you do not understand that is in our neck of the woods there is a development that is specifically for those who wish to partake in this behavior it is called "A Nudist Resort" huge sign outside it's entrance warns those entering that people will be nude. So we normally do not expect to find this behavior on our streets. Actually had a police officer seen this I am sure he would have at the least gotten a warning.

Apologizing to my non-JW friends

yesterday i bumped into an old friend from my last workplace.

he's a gay man and we were good friends along with a woman from the same office.

although i was a jw at the time, i would go for the occasional after work drinks with them, blackpool funfair every year and the occasional cinema or theater.

Yes, us wordly people do forgive and forget alot. We also let comments roll right on by.

I will give you an example of a comment the "Elder" made to me numerous times over the 5 years. I am involved very heavily with the Masonic community so he would say "the way I read the Bible the Masonic community is part of the Babylon blah blah blah. .." well whenever he started this I just tuned him out.

Now when we got down to our one and only fight after he gave me that booklet on Families. I made the comment look how you get such bad headaches every time you go to the KH, maybe if you cut back on the amount of time you spent there you would not be sick all the time.

His comment back to me was "those are my brothers you just insulted".

I thought to myself, did not say it to him but you insulted my brothers and sisters HOW many times with your snide remake and I left it roll right over. Now who has the broader stronger shoulders.

I am sure this man was far from being homeless. Not in this neighborhood, not in that car he was driving (maybe report it stolen), surely not for the quality of clothing he was jumping out of and into. I do believe it maybe a time management issue. This was a very well groomed man. Driving a very nice expensive car.

As for this nudity issue my son, dil and I are battling this problem on a daily basis because they have a 2 yr 3 mo old and 2yr 10 mo. Yes they are 7 months apart. I have these two wonderful grandkids 5 days a week for 12 hours. They arrive and go right back to bed in the morning. When getting the younger one dressed she thinks and insists we need no clothing no diaper nothing and it is a battle royal. Once you get her dressed she will strip and this process is repeated all day. Dad, dil and I are all trying to tell her nudity is not appropriate behavior. Even her brother yells at her NO NO.
